I have been committed to the industry since the teaching of the industrial arts classes in Stewartville, MN. I saw the need as an educator to build quality homes. My emphasis was then and continues today that when it comes to building a home that it is important that it is done right the first time. After doing various remodeling jobs I found previous contractors that had taken building shortcuts and many were poorly built. It is not always easy to fix if fixable later and it can be costly. Best to have it done with quality and built right the first time.

Les Radcliffe, a graduate of UW Stout, Menomonie, Wisconsin, has BS degrees in both Industrial Education, Woods and Vocational Education, Building Construction and starting his Minor in Business Law.
From 1977 to 1984, Les taught Industrial Arts at Stewartville High School and was instrumental in starting their Building Trades program. His last building venture with the program was a joint venture with the Vocational Education Department and the Minnesota Energy Agency, collaboratively demonstrating what was, at that time, called Super Insulated Homes, which has evolved into what is known today as Green Building.
In 1988, after a partnership as co–owner of Black Hammer Builders, Les began Radcliffe Homes Inc. as his own residential construction company. In 2006, he filed a certificate of assumed name of Radcliffe Homes & Remodeling to reflect the full scope of services provided by the business. The tag line he later added to further define the relationships Radcliffe builds with their clients, “Your Contractor For Life” says it all. Today Radcliffe even includes handyman services, a much needed business niche in today’s residential market.
Les has always been interested in historical features and events, an interest that comes in handy in the restoration of building and remodeling projects needing authenticity. He is an avid collector of John Deere tractors and equipment and President of the Root River Antique Historical Association.
As an enthusiast of outdoor activities and hobbies, Les enjoys life in the country, living west of Stewartville with his wife Sue, their yellow lab Jake, and their three cats.
